This post has nothing to do with accusing Steve Jobs of not entertaining us enough this year at the Macworld Keynote. I guess, Gates stole the show with his short feature with Matthew McConaughey and Jon Stewart this January. But well, the question is, all that hype of “There’s something in the air” has probably gone down the drain by now, even as Day 2 of Macworld 2008 is yet to begin. The Macbook Air at the first look, looks like an engineering marvel pushed to the limits, but have a closer glance and you realise, it is pretty much an useless decorative piece adding to your unused pile of fort gadget, collected soley for one reason-you love Steve Jobs no matter what.Let’s try to justify this by point by point.
At a price of $1,799 , it’s a shit load expensive and the features that it offers is not at all justified for the price you pay. After all, what rules at the end of the day is the user experience, not the slim design. [Continue Reading]

January is abuzz with activity in the online world and the Biggies are trying to make more news than their competitors/rivals. Microsoft went gaga over Bill Gates’ last keynote at CES. Macworld has gone live already and all the eyes are driven to the guy in the Black Turtle Neck and Blue Denims. But where has Big GOOG been all this while? It seems the Android Developer Challenge has started getting entries and submissions and the guys at the Open Handset Alliance have organised a Campfire ( like, remember the Open Social Campfire). Android Developers, Googlers working on the Open Handset Alliance and all partners participating in the project are to attend this event on 23rd of January. The official announcement page is here. Interested people need to register for the event by going to this link.

The online world has completely gone frenzy with rumors, speculations and the like about the Macworld and the “Air” campaign. Industry experts are going gaga over the possibility of a new Macbook called the Macbook Air, supposed to be ultra thin, and light and powerful as well. But is it being just way too overhyped, solely for the reason that Macworld 2007 was the platform where iPhone was announced. Has the hype just gone overboard? I personally think, Steve might face a tough challenge to live up to the expectations of the fanboys as well as the Industry invigilators who are scrutinizing Apple’s each and every move. Nevertheless it all gets revealed in just a few hours from now, and time for me to press the F5 button. Here is the list of those who’d be live-blogging the Macworld 2008.
Wish me luck!!!!
