In the latest post at the Twitter Blog [titled: Hello New Zealand], twitter has announced of the new-two way SMS service on Vodafone in New Zealand. So to all the Kiwis out there, here’s some Tweet Tweet Love!!!

The shortcode for Twitter in NZ is 8987 or TWTR. As always, Twittering over SMS is a standard rate message or deducted from your bundle and receiving notifications is free. If you’re not a Vodafone customer, don’t worry—we’re working on it.

Yet another addition to the GMail Labs. Google today introduced Inbox Preview feature in GMail Labs. The point to be noted here is though, in a world of high-speed internet, and GMail anyway offering high speed mail service-is this feature going to be useful at all? If you can’t long enough to let your Inbox load, or you are still stuck in the days of not-so-fast Internet connection, this feature might be of some help.
Similar to other features from GMail Labs, you will need to enable this feature from Settings, search for this particular Lab feature, and Enable. Once enabled, this feature will let users preview the 10 most recent messages. This is just a simple, static preview, and hence, saves time for people who might not have time to sit down to check whether they have got any new mails or not.
I certainly don’t understand the argument quite completely. But reading GMail’s verdict on it, here is what Peter Balsiger had to say:
… imagine that you access Gmail on a super slow connection from a remote place in Ethopia where it might take minutes to completely load your inbox. The disappointment is larger when you find out that there is nothing new to read and you could have saved all that time.

I have been using Google Chrome for quite some time now. Being a hardcore Firefox fan, when Chrome was introduced, I was skeptical about what features would Google’s homebred browser bring to the table. The answer was actually- tone down a lot, make it lighter, more efficient, clutter-free and serve the core-objective of fast browsing experience in a way which has never been done before. With the new Chrome browser version 2.0 being released today, Google claims its 30% faster than the previous version in handling Javascript.

The best part is, upgrading to Chrome 2.0 is as easy as it could get. Go to the Settings tab, then select -About Google Chrome. The message box window automatically checks for updates and instructs you to update the version to the latest one available. And voila, once done, all you need is to restart the browser.

GMail never stops innovating, does it? The latest addition to the never-ending list of innovations in GMail Labs is Translation. And what is it? Once enabled in the Labs Settings, this will enable users to translate mails in the inbox to the language of usage. Say e.g. you got a mail from a friend who wrote it in French. Enabling this Lab Setting, will show a link titled: Translate message to: English. This will happen if the users setting is English. The default translation language settings can be changed in the Setting Tab. Google has already rolled out this feature and it works like a charm.
Although, I would like to see features available in the Translate page of Google; i.e. features like translate the message in multiple languages. Just for fun. I know that has not much of a business sense, or does it not?
Further innovations on GMail could very much work on the lines of how Google handles translated web pages.Based upon your default language settings, if a mail is sent to you in a different language, the inbox could automatically translate your message in your default language with a Disclaimer stating: This is an automated translation of your Mail which was written in Language A. Firefox Hack: How To Watch Unrestricted Full Videos on Megavideo

Good ol Megavideo is now a paid website. And hence to enjoy the full unrestricted video viewing, one would have to pay and subscribe. Unpaid or Free users are restricted to just 78 minutes of viewing after which, the video would be disabled for the next 2 hours.So, if a movie is say, 80 minutes long, you are going to miss the nail-biting climax(That sucks!). There is a work around for this in Firefox, which allows users to view unlimited number of videos for any desired amount of time. Just follow the instructions given below.
1.Choose the URLs of the videos you want to watch. It can be even just one movie, or multiple video URL pages. Open them in multiple tabs on Firefox.
2. Start the video as usual (Hit the Red Play Button to turn it into Green, and then Push Play).
3. Pause the Video to let it Buffer. Repeat this for all the open tabs of videos.
4. Wait until Video or Videos have been 100% buffered till the last bit. (You know how to detect that, yeah the seek bar would have a grey progress bar kinda thingie approaching right).
5.Once buffered, go to File menu of Firefox. The Dropdown Menu has an option called “Work Offline”. Enable it.
6. Enjoy uncut, unrestricted viewing on Megavideo.
7.Remember to go back and deselect Work Offline when you are ready for another Movie or want to Browse the Web again.”
This also works in IE and Opera.Chrome unfortunately has Offline mode for only Google Gears enabled sites. Finally, for Mac users, there is no Work Offline mode in Safari.
