Google’s first native app for the new iPhone 3G and iPod Touch has been just unveiled. And from what we have seen from it, it is almost too good to be true. The power of Google in yur palm, on the move, all in ONE BIG APP. It combines all the services of Google (almost) and brings it to your new iPhone and iPod Touch. And even with enhanced features like, suggested search keywords, suggested website domains, local services integrated with Google Maps and even call history search. Needless to say it is for FREE.The best part of it is of course TAP TAP TAP!!
To get the Google Mobile App, go to the App Store on your iPhone/iPod Touch or your iTunes and search for Google Mobile App. One more thing, it is still not available elsewhere but only in the US.

At the WWDC Keynote, I clearly saw the Bharti Logo being flashed when Steve Jobs announced his plans of launching the iPhone 3G in 70 countries including India. This left no room of doubt that Bharati Telecom (the parent company of Airtel) would be the official carriers of the iPhone in India. Rumor had it in a post on Engadget posted a couple of months prior to the WWDC, that Vodafone had acquired the rights to be the official carriers of the iPhone.

“The Eagle has Landed”..and well at half the price. The iPhone 3G is here and people it is up for grabs at half the price. The US pricing is : 199$ for the 8GB model and 299$ for the 16GB. The 8GB comes in black, and the 16 GB comes in black and a new white edition. But more than the design, and the added features, what has stormed me, you and every bloody geek around the world is “They did it, twice the speed at half the price”. The 3G means faster data transfer, faster downloads. And the new iPhone 3G capably promises all of these and more. Of course the suave touchscreen and Coverflow still remains. And with iPhone 2.0 you have access to the newest of what iPhone has to offer.
It is not surprising that Steve Jobs estimates that the iPhone will sell 10 million more by this year end. More so because the new 3G model makes its debut in 22 countries on July 11th. And more than that, later this year, the new iPhone 3G would be available in 48 more. That’s really huge. As they call it, the Lucky 22 are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US. Yes, you read that right. Half a million. A friggin’ 500,000 songs on your iPod or 3,500 movies. Add to that a battery which can support continuous charge for a week at a single go, and have we just discovered Kryptonite? Not we, guys at IBM did. Sources from Fox News say:-
So-called “racetrack” memory uses the “spin” of an electron to store data and can operate far more quickly than regular hard drives.
Like flash memory — the most advanced type of memory for small devices such as mobile phones — it has no moving parts, meaning that the problems associated with mechanical reliability are dramatically reduced.
