Suggest More Recipients in GMail

by Sujoy on April 18, 2009

GMail Labs’ new feature enables a new luxury in your inbox. Coming to your inbox is Suggestive recipient listing. This feature will suggest your recipients on the basis of your frequency of your mailing to them. Does it mean, your mailing behaviour is being monitored?

The Official GMail Blogpost tell us that, once you enable this Lab setting, when you compose a message to your dad and mum, it would also suggest you to add your sis to the sending list. But, the criteria here for suggestion, is the entry of a minimum of two contacts.

More thoughts on it:
a) No suggestions on the Bcc text space.
b) Only works with the frequently mailed contacts. Suggestion doesn’t work if mail is being written to a contact to whom I don’t mail often.
c) One bug suggested by Alkarex, is that if the contact recipient name includes an ampersand (&), then when it is in the list of suggested recipient, it is double escaped and appears as &

What did you think of this new Lab feature in GMail?
