**Rumors and Predictions:**

The New iPhone 3GS:
What does ‘S‘ stand for? Is it Super or could it be Speed? Does that mean better processing speed, i.e. faster processors and more RAM. Also does it mean more storage? And oh, S could also mean (more) Saleable -i.e. a budget range product with a budget range price-tag. All these rumors have been making waves since the last couple of weeks. Let’s discuss them.

Well from different sources [mentioned below] we have collected the following data that the new iPhone 3GS is going to have the following features.
..significantly faster processors, twice the RAM, and twice the storage.
..expected prices to remain the same as the current lineup: $199/299 for 16/32 GB, respectively.
..better Battery life. [via Daring Fireball]

Why iTunes and Idol make a perfect couple?

Idol Loves iTunes

American Idol Season 7 is on and the Final 12 have been just announced. However, that is not what I’m gonna discuss here. American Idol has been associated with iTunes or vice-versa since this season. And this has actually spawned a business of its own. Take a look at this example. The contestants perform a song of their choice based on a particular theme. It was the 80′s theme during the Top 16 week, and Jason Castro performed Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. Simon Cowell announced that Jeff Buckley’s version of the same song is his favorite. Now here’s the business. Not only did Jason Castro’s performance hit the high note on the iTunes download charts, but it also brought Jeff Buckley’s single to the limelight. It features now at no.2 of iTunes download charts, and no.1 is another Idol performance, David Archuleta’s rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine”. Music from Idol is available for download on iTunes for 0.99$ and Videos for 1.99$. Apple should actually be very happy with the association with Fox Network’s Star Reality TV show which has not only brought more music to the catalog, but also brought old tracks back to life. And who’s the winner here- Apple for sure!!!

Macworld Rumors

chandler macworld

If Apple has the stuff right now, it won’t let CES take over the headlines, even if Macworld is scheduled next week. That’s what they showed, with the Mac Pro Launch, the fastest Mac ever, launched with the Premiere of Intel’s Quadro-Core Processors, PENRYN. This is BIG NEWS actually, because Intel is choosing Apple as the very first computers to use the new Chip technology. And to have announced that a week prior to the Keynotes at Macworld is quite shocking. Or as Gizmodo guys suggest here, is it just the tip of the iceberg? Only Steve knows what he has under his sleeve. So what can we expect from Macworld 2008? Industry experts are rumoring about iTunes with HD Support, New Office and a Better Leopard. What do we expect over here? Is it too early to ask for the launch of the iPhone Mac OS SDK?Or perhaps, a further reduction of the iPhone price? Or may be more bizarre, an unlocked iPhone totally, no holds barred, thumbs down to AT&T. I should really stop speculating now and let Steve reveal the STUFF in a week.
