Now this is something absolutely brilliant. And we don’t get to say that very often. Production stuudio – Animatronic Ackbar brings to you another geek-niched documentary. And this one is about the 85 billion dollar industry, the Gaming industry. And by the looks of it, this is not about the corporations and the profit making life cycle behind the Ataris, Arcades, consoles etc. This looks more emphasized on the fandom and following of people in their 20′s and 30′s and above – who were brought up on these games. These are the gamers who assemble in annual conventions, compete against each other, and yet, are active and dedicated members of a strongly formed clan of game lovers. Check out the awesome trailer of this documentary below.
Animatronic Ackbar is “a Los Angeles based art collective specializing in all facets of digital media.” You can read more about them (but not really the movie, there’s not much out there about it) on their official site as well as their Facebook.
This is the new viral video of the season. T-Mobile have done it yet again. With help from creative geniuses from Saatchi and Saatchi, T-Mobile has recreated the widely appreciated Rovio smartphone game – Angry Birds, into a live event. Its better if I just keep my mouth shut and let the video do the talking.
There’s also an awesome video of the making of this awesome event. The sheer amount of work that has gone into this absolutely remarkable.
Bill from Youtube channel engineerguyvideo has come up with an awesome tutorial video explaining the concepts of how fibre optic cables work and how they are used to send data/messages. In this short and concise, yet very clear video ( clocking at just 5:36 minutes), the primary concepts of the working of fibre optic cables have been discussed. Have a look at the video embedded below.
The brilliance of this video lies in the fact that how he has managed to capture the intuitive facts and bare-bone concepts of what could potentially be a complex topic of discussion replete with jargon et al.
It allows viewers to quickly grasp the concepts without being bombarded with unintelligible jargon. The mark of a great teacher if you ask me. He did more than enough explanation in those 5 minutes.
And there’s one thing that comes into my mind after watching this video – TUBES, I tell you. The whole internet is nothing but a series of tubes (or maybe complexly connected in series and parallel or a different arrangement in a different dimension).
The oh-so-very addictive meme sensation of the century, the cat who also is a pop tart floating in space with a rainbow trail has just entered legendary territory. So you’re not familiar with what I am talking about. Ok, Techkeyla is here to rescue you from this meme ignorance. First up, the image.
Have a look at the progress bar in the video above. Yes, that’s right. That’s a mini Nyan Cat. Man, the original website is addictive enough, and my record of Nyan-ing is 450 seconds [ coz I wanted to remain sane]. But one things universally true. I want the ringtone.
